Even though it has been some time since the project was realised, we still look back fondly on this wonderful project. Grosskraftwerk Mannheim Aktiengesellschaft (GKM) generates electricity for over one million people and heat for around 110,000 households, businesses and industry.
As part of the necessary modernisation of the power plant fleet, the company planned to build one of the most modern hard coal-fired units. The principle of combined heat and power (CHP) forms the basis for particularly efficient and climate and environmentally friendly generation of electricity and heat. Over a period of approx. 5 years and in connection with a high order volume, we were responsible for highly complex and extremely extensive engineering and civil engineering work.
